Physical Education & Health

Physical Education and Health embodies The New Zealand Curriculum’s (2007) vision for our young people and enables them to develop the knowledge, values, and competencies to live full and active lives. It is about them taking responsibility for improving their own well-being and the well-being of their communities. Learning in health education, and physical education helps students grow as "confident, connected, actively involved, and lifelong learners", who are ready to contribute to their world.

In the Senior School Physical Education splits into different areas. Active life skills is the compulsory PE course at Year 11 with a focus on interpersonal skills and self-management. We also have the introduction of Exercise Science, Outdoor Education and Health as optional courses. In Year 12 there are more options again, alongside Exercise Science and Health we also have Sport and Recreation and Outdoor Education as full senior courses.
